Reform UK Bracknell - MANIFESTO
Over the next few weeks and months we will develop our manifesto for Bracknell Forest. From what we see for ourselves and hear from our members, supporters and local residents, reform is needed.
Bracknell Forest Council must refocus on core services, value for money, openness and resident-first delivery. Our approach will be informed by party policies, but not by idealism and dogma. We will be responding to what our residents want us to do and what it is they pay for. In that, we will be honest to ourselves, honest to our residents, and do what we were elected to do.
That is our COMMITMENT
Not some hidden agenda that we will claim we have a mandate for.
We will prioritise residents by refocusing the council on
-
Core Services,
-
Value for Money,
-
Openness and
-
Resident-First Delivery
We will challenge waste, bureaucracy and poor procurement, protect frontline outcomes and demand transparency in how every pound is spent.
Here is the embryo from which our manifesto will develop with feedback from you: our members, supporters and all residents we can engage with.
These are our core pledges to Bracknell Forest. 👇
Prioritise residents by refocusing the council on core services, cutting reliance on costly consultants, strengthening financial oversight, publishing clear spending data and ensuring housing prioritises local families, veterans and long-term residents.
Restore value for money by reforming procurement, increasing competition, ensuring measurable outcomes and reviewing environmental initiatives to ensure they are affordable and proportionate.
Drive regeneration that protects frontline services by attracting investment to redevelop sporting facilities, The Deck, revitalising the High Street and encouraging private-sector-led growth.
Strengthen the local economy by supporting entrepreneurs, improving access to town centre businesses and attracting investment to increase the borough’s financial resilience without raising the burden on residents.
Ensure merit-based recruitment by focusing employment on competence, delivery and service to residents rather than box-ticking processes.
Replace token consultations with meaningful engagement by strengthening councillor-led decision making and ensuring residents have a genuine voice in local policies.
Protect clean, safe neighbourhoods by delivering infrastructure alongside development, strengthening parking and commercial vehicle enforcement and maintaining parks and green spaces.
Improve community facilities by maintaining Suitable Alternative Natural Green Spaces (SANG), investing in practical local amenities and ensuring developments contribute to local infrastructure.
Tackle fly-tipping and waste issues by reforming waste policies, targeting enforcement funding at offenders and ensuring the borough remains clean and well managed.
